Outstanding potential recognised
After 14 months of challenges, nine Project K graduates were put to the test one more time negotiating the startling heights of the Sky Tower and the Auckland harbour bridge.
The students selected for their outstanding achievements were treated to an action packed day before attending the Project K Student Excellence Awards ceremony at Government House.
The awards held on September 18 are now in their eighth year. Hosted by FYD Patron, Her Excellency Mrs Susan Satyanand, Lady June Hillary and Sir Paul and Lady Beverly Reeves.
For award recipient Ricky Wardlaw from Wellington, Project K was a life changing experience that helped him break out of his shell. He quoted Dr Suess as a way of reflecting his new outlook....
"Be your name Buxbaum or Bixsy or Bray.
Or Mordecai Ali Can Allen O'Shea, you're off to great places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So .....get on your way!
